1.Research the People and Location – Knowing who you are photographing is the key.

2.Tell Their Story – Answer People’s Questions With Your Photos – Who is this person? What do they do? Where do they live?

3.Put Yourself in Their World – It is easier to direct them when you are in their shoes

4.Engage With Your Subject – It is important to communicate with your subject so they feel comfortable

5.Be Friendly and Relaxed – Your subject will reflect you like a mirror

6. Have Your Camera Settings Ready – To not distract your subject

7. Fill the Frame –  Filling the frame with what is relevant to your photo is far more important than trying to follow a bunch of rules.

8. Try a Deep Depth of Field – It is important to show the environment of the person and not take the focus from the subject
